Back to the Dog House

"Basic training is, well, basically very important. We learned how to "Sit." Well of course we could do that before, but now we understand the command. It's exciting. We understand all the other important commands, too. You'd never know we were once a couple of maniacs with absolutely no education.

Good Girl, Good Boy - Basic Training with love, praise and affection made the difference. Imagine what a mess -- Gretchen piddled and diddled in the house. Not all the time, but once a week equalled 52 times a year. She also jumped on unsuspecting people and scared them half to death. Now she is really polite and everybody loves her.

Me? I'm Jose, the good looking one. Of course, I had different problems. I liked to bark -- all the time and even though I'm on the small side, the neighbors were almost ready to take drastic measures. Of course, the really bad problem was that everytime the front door opened I would dash out into the street. Almost got killed several times and actually caused an accident once. Good thing the driver didn't file a lawsuit. Then I learned how to SIT and STAY. I can't run out the door and SIT at the same time."
