"First I was a pup, see? The whole kitchen was papered with local news and the "business" section. (makes sense!) It didn't take me long to use the paper to - you know! I had no choice. Then one day, this "Einstein" I live with, picks up all the paper and says, 'OK pal, it's time to go outside!' Now I like walks. I like the grass under my feet and the smell of bark. I see that leash and my whole body wiggles with uncontrollable anticipation. Walks are great, but sometimes I can't wait to get to that kitchen floor!"

Sooner was paper trained, but never housebroken - so he'd sooner go inside than out. This housebreaking thing is all about feeding, watering and walking with a prescribed routine that fits the dog and the family. There's no quick fix or magic wand. Just some consistent effort and Uncle Matty's five-part method. And sometimes, a housebroken dog has accidents which may be caused by a variety of things - like a change in diet, or being left inside too long without a potty break.
